At some point in the college application process, you may be wondering, "how important is the essay to the college application anyway?" No one part of the application is the only factor in getting into the school of your choice, because all of the parts add up to paint a picture of who you are to admissions officers, though not all equal parts.

Just how big of a part? The essay is about 25% of the decision to most schools. What this means is while your grades, test scores and activities make up the other 75%, the essay is a significant factor in introducing yourself to prospective schools. All things being equal, it can make or break you. But don't panic! This is where a professional writing coach can calm your nerves, spark your creativity, and make sure your essay is as technically proficient as possible. When you work with a tutor, it becomes our job to keep you on task, on time, and on point! You will be sure to elevate the quality of your work and even learn some new skills that you can take into your college writing classes. Given all of that, how important is the essay to the college application? Very!
